Child Rights & Child Protection

Children are one of the vulnerable sessions in the community. Number of children in villages and slums are deprived from their fundamental rights. Child labour, child marriage, child begging, different kinds of exploitations, dropout children, children who needs care and protection are some of the issues related to the children. Majority of the community members in the villages and slums are not aware about the child rights.  Hence Kripa works in villages and slum areas to prepare the people to ensure the right of the children. Kripa provides its services to children in institutional set up and to in the community level to facilitate and assist the children and community to address and prevent the children from harmful situation like exploitation, violence, abuse and neglect. Kripa forms children’s parliaments in the villages and slums to organise and aware the children on different topics to reduce the children’s vulnerability in harmful situations and risks.

 

Kripa renders its services in the Juvenile Justice Homes in Ujjain district and runs non-form schools for dropout children and child lines, City Child Line Ujjain, City Child Line Agar-Malwa and Railway help desk at Ujjain Railway station to provide needed services to children who are in need of care and protection. Kripa has formed 196 children’s parliament gathering 4518 children in various villages and slums of its target area.  Children’s parliament helps the children to develop their communication, negotiation, sharing and decision making skills. In some villages children have started to work on issues related to them in collaboration with the allied system. Through Child Line Kripa could serve thousands of children who are in need of care and protection. Non- formal schools helped dropout children to resume their education in the formal schools. Skill development activities are offered to the youth who are out of school.
