Kripa Social Welfare Society renders its services to poor and marginalised people especially the women and children in the community. Kripa is committed towards the empowerment of the women for equal rights and opportunities and to educate the community about the importance and benefits of gender equity. Kripa organises the unorganised women through the formation of Self Help Groups and capacitate them to address the issues like discrimination, economic disadvantage, and access to education, health facilities, new skills and decision making power. Kripa offers training to women on different topics like rights, health, CBOs and its nature, Gram Sabha, financial literacy, micro plan, good governance, government schemes, leadership, public hearing, etc.  Self Help Groups not only supports women to organise together but also provide them a platform for their social, economic, political, educational and technical empowerment.

At present Kripa is having 955 Self Help Groups and 11875 women are part of these SHGs. Regular monthly meetings and interaction have helped the women to develop their confidence and to enhance their communication, negotiation and decision making skills. Effective functions of the SHGs have supported the women to develop their saving habits. SHGs members are utilising their saving for the purposes of housing, education, treatment, agriculture and to start some kinds of alternative income generation programmes. Increased unity, oneness and collaboration among the women have made them capable enough to encounter number of the challenges in their life. Several target villages women are actively participating in the Gram Sabha and public hearing for the development of their villages.
